The Canadians currently have the record game sewn up in many areas. Canada has had mad heat since an influx of African and Jamaican musicians years ago made it their home and as such todays music enthusiasts have much to mine in that corner of the world and a good starting point for further overseas exploration. Dylan has been bubbling away for quite a few years now and is about to explode this year, launching his own record label Tambourine Party Records with a none more crucial compilation of the works of June Evans first up followed by a totally unknown third record by Ghanaian born Rob (his first two records are amongst the most highly sought by African collectors). Immaculate presentations, both albums echo his dedication to music, also reflected in this selection of music for Spacedust records. Between he and Moss from Strawberry Rain music, they've unearthed some amazing music from Africa, heard here impeccably presented, psyche, funk, and of course, disco. This is subtly and tastefully done, music so sublime and enjoyable you don't immediately notice the sheer quality and creativity on display. Listen closely, play twice (and loud!).
